My hubby and I had waited so long for the first ultrasound today!! We saw the baby and the lady told us it was one of the most active babies she's ever seen! We saw it doing flips, yawning, rubbing it's eyes... It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. The only thing that bothered me was that they couldn't exactly determine the sex of the baby... The cord was in between it's legs. The Dr said she was 70% sure it was a boy but that is so frustrating!! I just wanted to know if this situation has happened to anyone else? I want a boy!

That's sooo frustrating. I was hoping that my baby would not have it's legs crossed and it was lucky that it didn't and we could see that it was a girl.....no two ways about it!

Very frustrating. I had 4 ultrasounds with my second and each time they could not get good look, baby wouldn't uncross legs or was in hard to see position. They told me 75% chance it was a girl. And it was but wasn't sure untill delivery, that put a delay on decorating her room and buying pink clothes. Cause there is always that 25% chance it was a boy. Good luck.

when we had our ultrasound at 17 weeks they told us that we were having a boy, so we bought john deere stuff for the nursery and everything, well we had another ultrasound at 28 weeks because "he" was measuring big, and the ultrasound tech camly told us congrats on our baby girl. we had three different people look at the picture and they informed us that it was a girl, (so our doughter is having a john deere nursery) so just wait until your next ultrasound to be sure. sometimes they think there is stuff there when there isn't. i know that doesn't help but at 18 weeks they can't really be sure but i hope you get the boy you are wanting and good luck

I was able to tell with both of mine, but I've known people who weren't sure. Sometimes the baby just doesn't cooperate. I would just hope for a healthy baby and not worry about whether it was a girl or a boy.

They said the same thing to my sister, and she indeed had a baby boy. Thankfully since she went out and bought all boy clothes. Good Luck
