LOL
That's a good question. Must be some inner boogie just dying to get out.

LOL, you know, not all walking looks so "normal" either. I've seen some pretty funny and gay walks in my lifetime. Dancing is seen by most who like to do it as a time to be free and release all that energy they've been keeping inside during the week. While not all of us can dance very well, it's still a way to burn excess energy and in many ways express ourselves. There are infinite ways of dancing which have been practiced, perfected and performed ever since humankind has been here. It's an artform... ugly, beautiful, gay, etc... everyone has their own interpretation or opinion on what it is to them, and to me... that's what makes art (whether it be dancing, music, painting, writing, etc.) so special.

Dancing is not gay. What makes you think that? My hubby and I love to dance together. We ballroom dance (waltz, fox trot...) and we are not gay. Dancing is great exercise, and a good activity for couples. Dancing has always been a form of celebration, even back to biblical times.
I think you should take some lessons in ballroom dancing. You might surprise yourself.
I don't know about the robot though. I was never really keen on that.

Well, the most direct answer is to tick off their parents and to get all native and rhythmic, but since you ask - when I was growing up, we learned to waltz and foxtrot among others and the process of holding a woman in our arms and dancing to the the music was definately not gay. And if you have been watching Dancing with the Stars or the Ballroom dancing competitions shown on PBS and other networks, I think intercourse or lust would come to your mind sooner than gay.

Only someone who can't dance would have this opinion. Consider the following:
It's great exercise.
It's great music.
It's a great way to get physically close with the opposite sex.
If you feel awkward, practice in front of a mirror or get some lessons instead of putting down a practice that has been going on for millenia.
Girls LOVE a guy who can dance!

Im guessing that you are one of the people who cant dance so they just turn to hating on people who actually do dance.. people dance because its a release of emotions and stress and its how many people in our society have fun.

Peer pressure. Because it is the "In" thing to do. So they can meet other people at these sites of mass hysteria, so they can show off their talent at being the best wriggler or robot.
It is more for seing and being seen than for the actual dancing. That is what you do to get noticed and pick up the "Hot" chicks.

It's great exercise for one thing, develops coordination, builds stamina, burns calories, tones muscles and attracts the opposite sex if your doing it well.
And above all it's fun!
Your seriously missing out.
