If I was to take 2 years out after my A levels for personal reasons, but had the appropiate grades in the right subjects for medicine, could I still apply to Universities and get accepted for medicine despite being 20?

Yes you can. Why don't you check with the uni you wish to apply for?

Edit: yes, I am in the UK and I started my degree at the age of 20.

That should be absolutely fine (just remember to apply in time!). In fact, if you use your twain gap years (lol) well, it could help you get into a better university than you would otherwise because of your experiences.

Any accredited medical school will likely require that you have finished a bachelor's degree. You have to be well-rounded, not just have As in science classes.

Age has nothing to do with it. It is more about your level of education. As long as you have your premed courses you can apply.

I don't see why not. You need only to prove that you have received a diploma from your A level institution.
