Money's only value is that you can exchange it for so many other things. It has no intrinsic value of its own... just the reflected value of everything else.

This is easy to demonstrate. If I gave you a chest with a trillion dollars in it but you would never be allowed to spend, invest, or give away that money, would you even want it? The thing would just take up space. It would only be good as kindling and lousy wallpaper.

Modern society endows that materialism is the only thing that brings happiness ; consuming has thus become a ''value'' in one's eyes.

On a more personal note, one of the things I cherish the most, is the ability to love and receive love in return. I also accord much importance to spiritualism, goals, and human contact.

Money only brings temporary contentment and may seem as ''high-valued'' for many, but true happinesss comes from being at peace with the very depth of our essence.

Good luck on your path towards this realization.

ABSOLUTELY! Too me it is. Money is the vehicle that would allow me to explore my hearts desires, and give me the time to stop and listen to my spirit and connect with those things in life that bring joy to my soul. Because on a day to day basis...who has the time or means other wise? I'm too busy getting up and getting to work on time, working, picking up groceries, getting dinner on the table by 6:00pm, laundry, etc.

I would have thought that gold and oil are more valuable than money, as they dictate the value of money.

I knew a lady that was quite wealthy. Her husband and son died within six months of each other. The money couldn't help her then.

Love is a far greater thing.

well certainly money is really important. ppl talk of status, respect et al.. but if u have good money, earned by good means, all these come automatically. the only thing to be taken care of is that one does not get involved in earning so much that the very purpose of earning money is forgotten.. :)
