Not all women think that...I certainly do not. Maybe you talk to and are friends with the wrong kind of women? xoxo

Stereotypes generally start from a recognised, recurring instance.
Historically at least, it was far easier for a man to cheat than for a woman. Women being the homemakers, would be left with the baby and the house and no time or opportunity to cheat - whereas the man could always "work late" with the pretty secretary.
Times may have changed, but the damage to society's picture of relationships has already been done.

One extra point though - as much as it's a generalisation to say men cheat, you are making just as strong a generalisation that women "always" say it's so.

EDIT: I've just had an extra thought - when women cheat, there's a possibility of pregnancy to give them away. Apart from STDs, where's the risk for men who cheat?

I love the women do cheat but men do it more arguement. Some say 75% to 25% ratio.

All that tells me is 75% of women can keep a secret better than 25% of men. Men just boast about it more and are more stupid about it. Have you ever heard the excuses men give. Pretty funny. Women are smarter about it.

Also men can only cheat with another women, so either they are cheating themselves or with a man in a relationship, does that make it any better?

I believe the women that say that men always cheat, are the women that always date the type of men that have the capacity to cheat. This type of man has the majority of qualities that attract women in the first place. And thus this provides him with more opportunity to cheat.

Also, if a man does cheat, he is more likely to cheat in all of his future relationships. Only the man himself can change this. So women, if your man was cheating on his previous woman with you, then he will most likely cheat on you.

Woman don,t say that, unless they get suspicious, and in most cases they are right, because men thinks that woman don,t have the capacity to listen to the male needs, I would suggest that doesn,t matter from which side the first step comes, but how about (swinging with another couple, at least you are both adults and can take full responsibility of your actions, it is better than deceiving each other on the back and get hurt..sorry but the church did and do a very bad job to the human soul, about what marriage is all about.

I agree it is a lame stereo type and yes women do cheat too but I think Women don't do it as often because they are not as vulnerable when it comes to the opposite sex. Most women don't get tempted as easily as men an most women don't have a problem going a long time without sex and most men do.This is how most men that I know are anyway. You just might be different.

All women don't say all men cheat. That is also a lame stereotype. Obviously you are dealing with someone who has been cheated on and she hasn't gotten over it. Just show her you are not that way, and if she does not eventually come around, then you need to think about how successful a relationship can be if there is a serious lack of trust on her part. She will always be watching you and jealous of other women you might just chose to talk to. Can you live with that?
I couldn't.

I agree with you, I think it's a VERY lame and very unfair stereotype of men.

Not all men cheat, but these women seem to forget that women cheat too.

Lately I've seen more posts here in YA about women cheating on their husbands than husbands cheating on their wives.

So not all men cheat and not all women cheat, but I think people need to think before they start stereotyping people as cheaters who are not and are faithful to their spouse.

BTW, I don't cheat on my wife. I love my wife too much to do something that selfish an painful to my wife.

don't know about that but it seems many people lie.liars and cheaters pretty much go hand in hand.i trusted my husband completely until i caught him going behind my back and looking at Internet porn and dating sites pretending to be single.all the while putting up with his sexual problems and being a loving supportive wife! imagine my surprise, hurt and disgust!worse than that like a kid he tried to make excuses by saying he did nothing wrong it was just a fantasy! hello we live in the real world,i want and need real sex!!! satisfying sex i was always ready for it and was quite adventurous, maybe he just couldn't keep up,even though i am 8 years older than him!!! not all men can handle a cougar!!!not all men cheat or all women but those who do sure make it hard on the rest of us!!!!! good luck!

true...Women are just insecure and even if you are a decent guy, a woman cant tell. All the women I know have cheated on their husbands and bf's...they use me as their alliby which is sad. I've never cheated cause I dont have bfs. I'm not sure if I would cheat or not..but I figure why not break it up if im not happy anyway.

Although it's true that some women 'cheat', the preponderance of cheating is carried out by us guys. We simply think multiple lovers are the way to go. We're biologically built that way. Many guys view the institution of marriage and committed relationships as too stifling, and we week a wider choice of sexual experiences beyond what 1 woman can provide. Women seek those committed relationships with the same intensity we elude them. Obviously, this does not apply to you or most men, but it explains why so many men date others, cheat, run-around, and go out on the sly with the woman they profess to be devoted to.
