First of all, a cosmetic surgeon is a type of physician and requires a medical degree. It may seem like a glamorous job to you but the road getting there is long, difficult, and expensive. Also, you don't need to decide what kind of physician you want to be right now. Just make sure you are sure of going into medicine. You are going to need to get a bachelor's degree at a four-year university, and declare pre-med. Pre-med is not a major, but rather a declaration so that you can take the prerequisites to take the MCAT (Medical College Admission Test) and get into medical school. The pre-med classes consist of calculus, chemistry, biology, organic chemistry, and physics. In addition to taking pre-med classes, you will have to declare a major. Biology or chemistry are usually the recommended majors because the pre-med classes are also prerequisites to the majors so you don't have to take anything extra, particularly in biology which requires less math. Also, the majority of accepted medical students have a biology or chemistry major. The MCAT is a very difficult test and tests you over those pre-med subjects. During college you should also gain some sort of medical experience by doing things like volunteering at the hospital, researching, joining pre-med clubs, and shadowing doctors (maybe a plastic surgeon so you can see what the job is like).
Once you graduate from college, you go onto four years of medical school and getting accepted is extremely difficult. Once you are accepted, the first two years of medical school involve bookwork in advanced science classes. The last two years are mainly clinical rotations and electives designed to help you choose your speciality, so as you can see, you don't have to decide right now. You have to take the board exams in order to get a residency, which is on-the-job training which qualifies you to practice medicine. If you want to be a plastic surgeon, you have to have 3-5 years of residency in general surgery followed by 2-3 years in plastic surgery.
So you are looking at 8 years of school followed by 5-8 years of residency training afterward. It will take a lot of hard work, perseverance, and dedication to get there. Once you get through, you will have a great job and not to mention the fact that the salary is very high... plastic surgeons make between $150,000-$450,000.

A Plastic Surgeon?
Pre-Med Degree: College: 4-5 years.
Medical School: 6 years
After and during Medical school you have your residency. You obviously can't operate on people right out of medical school. You will have to work with a plastic surgeon for quite a while before you are qualified to preform surgery. When you claim your speciality you will have to take a board exam for it.

It's something like 11 years. After all of your college and residency, you have to have at least 2 extra years of cosmetic training.

Hopefully by the time you've got all that medical training you'll find a better use for it than cosmetic surgery
