Like someone tiny is in there pinching you or stabbing you with something. The pain is not severe, it's more annoying than painful. It comes and goes. Did you experience this around week 4?

FYI I'm taking a hpt tomorrow morning, I didn't get the chance to this morning. I would be 4 weeks if I'm actually pregnant. We bded the right days and I felt car sick yesterday and I'm getting those pains, so I'm hopeful. I just wanted to know if the sharp pains were normal around week 4 so that I don't have to worry about anything, and have a little hope that we conceived. Thank you for all of your answers that will eliminate some of my confusion and hold me over until tomorrow morning!!

Talk to your doctor at your next visit. I can tell you right off the bat that what you're feeling is perfectly normal. As a matter of fact, look at it as being a good thing. It's your body's way of letting you know that you're pregnant and things are moving along the way they should. Most likely it's just your stomach stretching as it makes way for the baby! It could also be a pregnancy cyst. DO NOT WORRY THOUGH!!! The cysts are completely harmless and they go away on their own after so many weeks. You can blame the pregnancy hormone for that one! I had one in the beginning of my pregnancy (about 5 weeks in) and it was just annoying as can be but it eventually went away after a few weeks. Again you should always mention things like this to your doctor just so you're sure that everything is okay. Good luck with your journey!

I would call and bug the dr. That is what they are there for. I never had sharp stabbing pains, I did have what felt like scrapping on my cervix, but not sharp or painful enough to make me stop what I was doing. I do remember my children playing with nerves in my back which made the front of my right leg go numb and feel like ice water was running down it, which would make me stop because it burned. Anyways, call the dr. I called and bugged my dr all the time with my son. She would tell me the only stupid questions are the ones you don't ask. I would feel safer knowing what was going on then being in the dark. Good Luck!

I had them also. The doctor advised me it was just stretching. I used a heating pad and some Tylenol. It helped alot. It should only last a few weeks but if you start getting shoulder pain you should contact your doctor.
