I think it depends on individuals and not gender. I know some women who love to eat and some who wish they could just eat one little energy pill per day instead of having to eat several times per day. I know men who can eat endlessly much and really enjoy eating and others who wish they didn't have to take out time to eat.

I think it's impossible to generalize about this, it's an individual thing.

I think women make food a priority whereas men are willing to forgo eating for fun or work, etc.

I also think men have a stronger will than women, most women just can't control themselves when they see food.

Also, I find that some men are too lazy to make themselves something to eat so they just go hungry or wait til they are starving to put effort into making something to eat.

Women eat everywhere, they like to throw parties where everyone just hangs around and eat, they use tupperware as an excuse but they just want to sit around and talk and eat.

What do they eat - they pick a little at their children's nuggets, they nibble on dinner that they make, in the car while they give the kids a snack, ice cream and chocolate late at night on the couch while watching some stupid show, everywhere!

What makes them capable - availability, they're around food more and their emotions make them more capable. I heard that when women are stressed and depressed they eat more whereas men eat when they are happy.

EDIT: are you asking if women like to eat more while another human being is growing inside of them - well YEA, it makes sense doesn't it. And afterwards the breastfeeding makes us eat even more and then after that we are used to eating a lot.

I am not sure why these women like to eat more than men but I personally wouldn't. I personally if I eat too much feel like a pig and I end up being bloated. So why put myself through that.

I guess it's more of a personal opinion of why they do it.

Well, I'd have to say women don't eat more then men. Look at all the anorexic people you see around you, and who is the dieting market targetting to. Food is enemy to a woman. We've been programmed not to enjoy food without guilt b/c we'll look like heffers.

Men can enjoy gourging their fat bellies without having to worry about all the stress we women have to put up with.
