I think that he should go with Bill Cowher, he seems like a better fit.

They're going to have to go for somebody that REALLY wants to coach football again because that team is as low as it gets right now, even the Panthers are probably better off with Mr. Conservative John Fox as a coach....because, well, we have a coach that loves the game still.

Parcells? I doubt it, Schottenheimer probably wants to coach again, that's possible, but they are probably better off finding some offensive/defensive coordinator somewhere around the league and letting him be the head coach because if I were those two guys, I'd stick with broadcasting like Parcells is.

Atlanta will be building for many years, why not hire a young coach like Singletary. He will make a great head coach and this looks like a perfect fit. The Falcons have many veteran players (that didn't get along with Petrino) and many young players and will be drafting a QB as well as signing a free agent QB for next year. A lot of building will need to take place and I can't think of a better man than Singletary.

Parcells I do not think he would do it... but Schottenheimer might. With a early draft pick a good coach could start to turn the team around.

Bill Cowher should be available at the right price for the right team. If Arthur Blank were to give Cowher the kind of control that Bill Belichek enjoys in New England and was willing to pay him a salary of $5 million per year to turn the Falcons organization around, then Cowher, I'm sure, would be interested.

Falcons fans should just pick a new team to like. Most of us never go to a game anyway. We are merely TV fans. We need to stop feeling some foolish loyality to the local ownership (that screws us over by conspiring with local officials to have us pay to build them a stadium) which only encourages us to remain die-hard chumps. I mean, I don't feel any tremendous loyality to my hometown McDonald's over some other citiy's Burger King -- and football, like they all acknowledge, is just another business. Personally, I'm a Vikings fan right now (I live in Tampa), but that can change in a heartbeat, of course.

Offer Parcells a hell of a deal and sign him, then the Falcons are set, look what he did for the Giants, Patriots, Jets, Cowboys his history speaks for itself Bill Cower would also be an excellent choice

Whoever gets it need $$ and time. Parcells is too old, and marty can take them only so far.

Blank ought to go BEG Dennis Green to take that job. he should have gotten Green instead of Petrino.

in fact I bet if you asked those who followed Petrino's career about this action, they would say (like green),
"He was who we thought he was!"

Petrino has had 15 jobs in 24 years. What does that tell you?

No, they would know that they could never build a good team there; unless they got new ownership and management.
