Hi - Just noticed that you posted this message an hour ago and no one has answered it. Probably because, like me, no one can understand why you would want someone else to download stuff into your iPod(?). Possibly it's because you don't have a computer(?). If that's the case, the only thing I can recommend to you is to find a friend who has one and who would let you use their computer - however, if you do end-up doing this, and your friend also has an iPod that he/she uses with their computer, then that can create a problem because of the one iTunes Library that you both will have access to. I could go on about what you would do in that case, but since I don't know if that is your problem, I won't do that right now. However, if that is the case and you would like for me to explain to you how you would be able to share an iTunes Library with someone else, just edit your question with that information and I'll edit my answer here with those instructions.
In the meantime, if it's just because you don't know how to download anything from your computer to your iPod, it's really not hard. The first thing you do need to do is download iTunes onto your computer. Just pull up the Apple website and follow the prompts to download iTunes onto your computer:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/
The next thing you need to do is to register your iPod with Apple. If I'm remembering correctly, once you download iTunes, there should be a place on iTunes somewhere that will prompt you to do this, so go ahead and do it. Apple/iTunes needs to have the information on your iPod. Also on the Apple website is really all the info you need for any questions you might have, but I have bought a few books on iPods and iTunes and by far the best one is "iPods & iTunes for Dummies":
http://www.amazon.com/iPod-iTunes-Dummies-Computer-Tech/dp/0764577727
If you are really serious about learning how to use your iPod and iTunes, I would recommend that you get this as it will answer every single question you could ever have on how iPods and iTunes works, and it is a Dummies book so it is written in very easy to understand language. I can't recommend it enough. Even though I have learned a lot about iPods and iTunes over the past couple of years, I still sometimes pick up this book for certain things. It is just something really good to have.
Oh - I guess I never really answered your question about if there is eome place you can drop off your iPod and have someone download stuff into it. The answer really is "No", because that just wouldn't work. You would constantly be having to go back there every time you wanted to add something to your iPod. So, no, one of the great things about iPods is you can personalize it with your own music, pictures, movies, etc., but you do that with your own computer, or with a good enough friend who is willing to share their computer with you.
