If so how fast were you going? What was the speed limit? What was the outcome?

I got a ticket for driving 47 in a 30. When the officer found out I worked for the city he wrote warning on the ticket and let me go...nice.

Many years ago I got a ticket for 70+ in a 55 zone. The officer was standing in the road and just waved me over to the side of the road. I got caught in a speed trap a mile before the officer standing in the road.

I almost got a ticket out of state in Ohio.
I was driving along talking to hubby about which route we were going to take and had the cruise control set at 65.
I didn't realize I was also on the pedal..at 80.....
The officer was in the median and when he tagged me I knew I was sunk a huge hefty fine....I immediately pulled over to the right and stopped.
He came up to the window and started off with "thank you for not making me chase you...can you tell me why you were going so fast?"
I told him the story .
He took my license only...asked for registration and proof of insurance I told him it was in the glove box he asked if the vehicle was registered to me I said yes....he said if he needed the other info he would come back. I had NEVER had a speeding ticket before....
He comes back to the car and asked if we had figured out our route and I said "yes thank you". He said he could give me a 300.00 ticket but since I didn't make him chase me and I had a plausible excuse he was just going to give me a warning....talk about a blessing.....I wrote a letter to the police department when I got home and thanked them for having such understanding officers.

rofl...(does that still mean rolling on the floor laughing..speeding ticket...me?) yes..a few..

45 in 30, 65 in 55, 55 in 45...usually when i'm on thruway or just off the thruway or expressway or going down a hill cause my truck was heavy..and I'm either yelling at the kids or so tired I"m not paying attention to the changes..but I swear these cops always sit at the bottom of a hill so your car picks up speed...see them there all the time in a couple spots...

I'd say a hundred bucks..NY has high surcharge too..ticket might only be $60...but the "surcharge" is like $50 or something..NOT CHEAP!

Good you got let go.

48 in a 35. The cop didn't pull me over until I was 4 blocks from the infraction (around the corner on another street). He was a dick. He asked me if I knew why he pulled me over, I said "no, sir. I came stopped completely at that light before turning right."
then he told me how I went 13 mph over for 600 feet. $65, what a pain.

I came close to getting a speeding ticket but the highway patrol officer let me off with a warning. He seemed to be in a good mood. I was lucky I guess.
Speed limit 70 and I was going 77mph.

I was doing 75 in a 70. In Iowa. It was a speed trap and they had planes out and were pulling any and everyone over.

I am long overdue for a speeding ticket....knock on wood I don't get one....

I'm 25, and still no speeding tickets. Which I don't get cause I don't always respect the limits. I've just been lucky about that, I guess;)

81 in a 65. Dropped it to 80 in a 65. Saved me about 75 bucks. It happened to be a State Trooper their not as lienient as local cops.
