I have had to do this. Years ago, when I was only a commis chef, I used to work at a golf club/ hotel. We used to take group bookings up to a year in advance. Well, we had a golf society for 40 or so booked in for golf then BBQ after in the middle of march. Well it started snowing that day - all the customers got to sit inside but I stood for 2 hours cooking the food while a waitress ferried it to the customers!!
I was cursing at the time but it seems quite funny remembering it now.
