A boat floating in fresh water displaced 16000 N of water. How many newtons of salt-water would it displace if it floats in salt-water of a specific gravity of 1.17?
The ANSWER IS 14,000 N, but how to I get that?

The equation for buoyant force is Fb=density*gravity*volume. Also the weight of the water displaced is equal to the volume of the water displaced.
