What Will I See at 5 to 6 week Ultrasound Scan ??

hiya i am off 2nite to have a ultrasound as i have previously had a miscarriage and i had 1 time spotting pinkish stuff last nite so they are taking me in 2night for an ultrasound = i think i am about 5 - 6 weeks !
what will i see at the ultrasound ?
which 1 is more clear at this stage - internally or externally ? which 1 will they do because my boyfreind is coming too and would feel a little embarrased to do internally when he is there lol even though he has seen it all before
any help will be great thanxs xx

5.5 weeks-Gestational sac can be seen seen
The yolk sac which is a source of nutrients for fetus can also be seem.
The embryo will be only 3 mm isize.
Fetus is too small to see this early in pregnancy.
6 weeks- A fetal heartbeat can be seen during the scan
Scans may be performed in the first trimester to:
Confirm a normal pregnancy
Assess the baby's age
Rule out abnormalities, such as ectopic pregnancies or potential for miscarriage
Assess the baby's heart
See if there are multiple pregnancies
Identify abnormalities of the placenta, uterus, and other pelvic structures

Externally you may not see heartbeat yet at 5-6 wks. Baby will be like a round little ball, starting to see head and curvature of back, may be too small to see arm or leg buds at this time. They may want to do an external first and if everything looks ok, then an internal. Make boyfriend stand by your shoulder so he don't see it if it's internal. Freaked me out when the doc pulled a condom outta his pocket, guess he seen the look on my face and smiled and said "don't worry, its to cover the internal device!!" Good luck and I'll pray its good news!!
*internally you may be able to see heartbeat if not heard outside with doppler*

good luck for later honey! At a six week scan you will see a very small feotus although you wont see any limbs as yet. I remember thinking my baby looked like a little whale really,my hubby said alien. I bleed a little at the start of my pregnancys and went on to have two lovely kids, niether of which looked like a little whale or an alien.

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks to envision for an ectopic being pregnant. there became a sac with a heartbeat seen. unquestionably mind-blowing. good success. i might say all is definitely yet basically your physician provides you precise assistance on your case.
