i asked this question not for you to judge me whether im lying or not?i had this news a week ago and we visited another doctor.why should i lie about this certain situation?i live in south korea and not all doctors here can speak english.they cannot explain the situation very well,and im not a korean,i knew just a bit of korean.all they can say is that its abnormal and terminate.thats why i asked for what do u call it.because the first doctor just told me that its congujate twins.and i dont get it.

no its not a sin!!! is it not possible to abort one of the babies? or is it possible that there is something they can do? search the net for as much info you can find, I was in a similar position as you only about a month ago I found out my son has a serious defect in his skull, he has a hole in the back of his skull and a growth on the back of his head, i was told that the best thing for me and him was to terminate the pregnancy.For some reason something was telling me that I shouldn't do that so I spoke to my doc more and had HEAPS of tests done and did a LOT of research and decided not to terminate so far my pregnancy is doing well my little man kicks all the time and is healthly apart from this defect and I have a good feeling about it. So my advice is to do as much research as you can speak to as many docs and surgons have as many test as you can to help you make the right decision, and use you own instinct because NOTHING beats a mothers instinct!! I've never had a abortion but I've got friends who have had one and i know that after a termination you do feel a little groggy and dis oriented and you feel a little wosie and sick but you don't feel anything because you are sleeping. Good luck to what ever decision you chose to make and remeber that abortion is NOT a sin specially in circumstances like this what ever you choose to do is what is for the best.

I also live in South Korea and most of the doctors here speak pretty decent English. And you didn't have a friend/boss/co-worker who could translate for you? I'm just saying it looks suspicious that you asked what this called in the health board.
If you're telling the truth then I'm genuinely sorry for you and you have a tough decision to make. In South Korea abortion is only legal when there is a genetic problem with the child or a threat to the mother. You might want to try going to Seoul National Hospital for a second opinion. And take someone with you to translate.

Assuming you are telling the truth - you can always get a second opinion.
I can understand not wanting to get an abortion, but if the doctor has determined that the baby will not be able to survive, then there is no point in going full term and delivering a baby only to have it die (and risk your own life).
Sometimes doctors are wrong - and the baby might have a chance of surviving, but in a case like the one you describe, those chances are slim, and the short life that the child does have will be filled with excruciating pain and suffering. It would be more selfish on your part to force it to have to go through this, just so you don't feel like a 'sinner'.
As far as the procedure is concerned - discuss it with your doctor to find out more about it. People will tell you a lot of things to try to scare you from having a perfectly a safe, and in this particular case, completely justifiable procedure.
This situation might not be easy to deal with mentally - even though you are not just getting an abortion out of convenience or other selfish reasons, it can still have repercussions that take years to deal with (if they can ever be completely dealt with).

Wow, that's tough. I feel for you, but the baby won't live very long with one heart. My advice would be to abort (I only think it's necsessary 1% of the time). Why get attached to the babies even more and then go through a more difficult grieving period?

If I was you I would get another Doctor and have your baby! I know if I had a Siamese pregnancy I would still want to have because it is my child but I would be aware of the chances that it might not make it but love it while you have it!
