I have tried Sonic to record I have tried windows media to burn and also have tried I tunes. I even got someones cd burner drive that worked and plugged it into my HP System and it still would not recognize blank cd. I don't know what else to do. I have tried all different blank cd's.

Well I have downloaded Nero 8 and uninstalled drivers and reinstalled and got a good recordable cd and still nothing.

Firstly make sure the discs themselves are actually CD-R/RW's and not a DVD R/RW's (check on the disc itself or the box). DVD discs require a finer laser to be able to be read/written. If the problem isnt Isolated to a Single CD-Writer then I would hazard a guess and say the medium is most likely the problem.

Hi. This is usually a driver issue. Uninstall the drive through 'Control panel' and reboot. Your OS should find the drive and install its driver.

It could be the brand of cd vs the burner...this happens with my dvd recorder....

hey same happnes wt my frn too.
HP system hv too much prblm in Cds.
use Nero burning Rom7 or heigher.
it 'll wrk.
