I can understand someone showing support for a friend in a tough situation, but this was not the case.
They wanted it to seem like there was unfair treatment involved. The truth is what he did was horrible, he lied about it at first, then did not completely own up to everything when he did admit guilt, and then tested positive for drug use.
If not for these things he probably would have gotten a lighter sentence. I believe in redemption of someone who makes a mistake, and I hope this is the case for Vick.

I personally think it's misguided, but you can't fault someone for supporting a friend and teammate. I was actually more bothered by how many fans were wearing Vick jerseys - unlike Hall or any of the Falcons players, they don't know Vick as a friend, so their actions were likely based only on the fact that they like him as a player and probably believe his sentence was too harsh.
It's tough to judge Hall, Roddy White, or anyone else on that team without knowing the relationship they had with Vick. I do think, though, that something saying "Free Mike Vick" is both misguided and more than a little stupid.

I think there is a time and a place. Go visit him in jail if you want to be a friend. Don't go on national TV talking about how its not that bad and all that stuff that some people have done. What he did was horrible and I wish someone on the team (coach, GM, owner) had told them take it off and just shut up about it.
Vick got what he deserved. He made the choices to risk everything to do that stuff.

How about showing some support for Arthur Blank? this poor guy was lied to, not ony by VIck, but by friggin Petrino. One a player, one a coach, both Blank gave MILLIONS to. the whole "Free Mike VIck" thing is a joke. you don't free admitted felons, until their jail term is up.
I feel worse for Arthur Blank than ANYONE in this entire situation.

That "Free Michael Vick" shirt was so stupid. He commited crimes and needs to serve his time. He let his whole team down, I have no idea why they are supporting him. Vick is the reason the Falcons are 3-10. If Vick was playing there is no way the Falcons would have that record. If I was his teammate I would be wearing a shirt that says "F**k Michael Vick"

This is pretty two sided. #1 we are the sum of our thoughts. No one is immune to that. Vick gets a $130 million dollar contract but is doing that dumb s^#@t, backwoods, caveman, dogfighting bs??? He deserves what ever he gets for being STOOOOOPID.
Then there's this; whites have been hunting (ie; killing animals for sport for DECADES, no one got arrested why Micheal Vick?) thats good ol american racist bulls%$#t it never fails. Thats why this country will soon turn to nothing because its being destroyed from within by its own inhabitants. No Al Queda bs. You're all going to die at your own hand (or fork in some places) BUHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ignorance! Race seems more important to some people than right and wrong. It's the same sh!t Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have been pimping to the media for years.

yes, vick is a felon, however, the players are still backing him during this troubling time in his life. i have to admit that it was the dumbest thing a millionaire sports figure could do; dog fighting. he made a mistake and is now paying his debt. on the other side, will you be with him during his troubling time? or mudsling just like everyone else, abandoning him? i saw the tributes, players and fans supporting him and i was for it. regardless of Vick's actions, his support was felt.

Anyone who supports Mike Vick is less than human in my book. I do not feel that it is necessary to bring up criminals when discussing FOOTBALL, though.

Inappropriate!!! Michael vick is an idiot who obviously doesn't care about what he did. It shows by how he showed up to court. Good riddance to him. The others that support him clearly need to have their heads examined.
Edit : In response to wizeguy - how can you say that he should be supported when he clearly doesn't care about what his actions are and how he clearly doesn't care about anyone but himself since he continues to spit in the face of justice. He used marijuana after he was told not to use drugs. He lied after saying he would cooperate. He doesn't deserve support.
