Interesting article from abc news on the subject. I just don't know why they would mention Jennifer Wilbanks, the crazy run away bride. I think they should lock her away for a good five years. She cost the taxpayers plenty with her antics.

I usually listen to CNN, but I agree with you completely on this subject. Jennifer Wilbanks needs to be put on meds immediately. Can you IMAGINE how much she cost the taxpayers (rolling eyes) gah!

I think American women these days have a lot on their plate. We are expected to be thin, beautiful, keep our husbands happy, have a perfect home and children, be active in our children's schools and groups, hold down a full-time job, and participate in church and volunteer activities. It's a lot for any woman to handle.

From a personal standpoint, I have had a hellish year and my situation is going to get worse before it gets better. I don't think anyone can judge another till he/she has been in the other person's shoes. Jennifer Wilbanks did make a big mistake but I think, as the article says, there may have been a good reason for her to do what she did, at least in her own mind. Like me, she may not have had anyone to talk to. Sometimes that's a big help and it's really all women need.

It's the holidays and I think especially at this time of year, we need to be a little more understanding of what people's private struggles may be and cut them a little slack.

The security guard in Colorado didn't. What can be more pressure than having a lunatic shooting at you from close range. Let's face it there are men and women who crack under pressure. Neither gender has a monopoly on it.

That would be a one-sided question I think...
How do you explain the female security guard that stepped up and took care of business in Colorado and shot that gunman?

I knew guys, when I was a cop, that were too chicken to do their jobs...

I don't think women, or men, crack...I think it's a characteristic of the individual

"Cracking under pressure" is DEFINITELY not a gender-specific problem. You honestly think men don't crack? That's laughable. In any case, Jennifer Wilbanks has mental illness and depression problems, so she is not a very good example.

A lot of people do crack, especially under high pressure situations.

That one is "celeb" seeking.
Women can't afford to crack under pressure, someone has to keep the home fires burning and the men are dashing about watching football!

No. The one I put under the sheet of plywood and piled rocks on just went sort of mushy.
