i put my photos forwar to a modelling agency
I was stopped by a scout before but turned it down because i didnt want my friends and family to think i was a poser/big headed
but people keep telling me i should do it...and I think i would really like it
what would you think if your friend/relative gave her photos into a modelling agency?
I know i shouldnt worry about the opinion of others and that its up to me what i want to do but i would appreciate it if you gave me your honest opinion
thanks!

I get odd reactions from people when they find out I'm a model, I only wear makeup when I'm on an assigment, so people must think it's weird!
People shouldn't think that you're big headed or a poser because someone likes the way you look. Go for it & don't worry what people think. Just rememeber, if a modelling agency wants money for signing you up then it's a scam & don't pay!
Sign up on sites like www.starnow.com & www.Modelmayhem.com. These sites you find your own work without an ageny, I have had lots of work from these sites & the experience got me a legit personal agent.

You will have to be a poser/ big head to get to the top in modelling its a dog eat dog world!
If you think you can do it, give it a try and remember dont let rejection get you down as they can be very very harsh!!

Be very careful they are lots of companies out there to scam you when it comes to modelling, most of the big companies will not ask for any money from you, if they do for training or photos etc make sure you get someone to read over the contract!

Send your photos to the modeling agency. If you have any type of gift or ability, you should use it. I was in college a few years ago and in a room I saw a piano. So I decided to sit down and play something. Then I overheard somebody say, "Showoff." It doesn't matter. Some people will be happy for you and others may not be so happy. Send the photos.

I know my friend at school and her sister did it. I didn't think they were big headed at all. I think they were very lucky to have been born with the look that was wanted at the time (weird because they were definitely not your typical beauties but were both very, very striking - and tall! - so I can see why they made good models)

As long as you don't go around bragging about it then why should anyone think you are a big-head...
If you want to do it but you're worried about what people think then just don't tell them!

No one has to know about your private life if you don't talk about it...

go ahead, but do not tell your friends. If you were being "BIg Headed" you would brag all day, right? By not telling them, then you show that you are not flashing it around. If it works, GREAT (good luck), and if it does not, at least you know. (and they don't, so they can not rag you about it lol)

My GF used to be a talent scout, and the secret of the deal is IF YOU HAVE TO PAY, IT IS A RIPPOFF!!!!! If the agency offers to take care of the Fees, portofolio pics ect, then they are probably legit.

If you have the name of the scout and/or their business card.
You should have included that in your portfolio.
It would depend on many things, the way the photographer did the shoot, being one of the main ones.
Modeling agencies get 100's of unsolicited portfolios every
years from wannabee models who think and/or have been told that they have what it take to do professional modeling.

I do wish you the best of luck!

I think it would take a lot of self-confidence to do it yourself, so go for it! You're gonna have to put yourself out there, so this is the best way to start. If an agency was interested in you, YOU'd have to go to the interview, not your friend or relative.

Hey, why don't you post a picture so that we can help you decide!! Anyhow, if you want to do it, just do it. Who cares what people think they will only be jealous. If you can earn some good money from it and you have the opportunity then GO FOR IT!!!!

The work is hard, but the rewards are good, so if I were you I`d give it a try. Just don`t get caught up in the fast living style, that`s where the trouble is.

if you could, go there in person.. are you sure it was a legit person? anyone can say they are a scout.. if they were a proper one, they would have given you a business card, and say here.. just in case you change your mind..

and NO agency will charge you for joining or for photo's simply because they are making money out of you and taking their cut.
