Is she normal otherwise? By that, I mean, happy and content, etc. Does her face turn red like she's trying to force it?
I used to give my kids Karo syrup in their bottles when they were constipated. Try some applesauce or prunes.....
Also, call her doctor.

Don't worry at all, breastfed babies rarely get constipated. A baby can go even several days without a poo without it meaning constipation. If she seems to struggle when she eventually does a poo it's a different story, but relax - my baby went through a period when she did a poo every 2 to 3 days and it was fine (normal consistency and good weight gain).

Don't worry. Your babies system is more developed now and since you're breastfeeding it is completely normal for a baby your age to go up to a week without a bowel movement. My 4 month old went through the same thing and I was a nervous wreck. But now he only goes mabe twice a week. Formula fed babies usually have bowel movements everyday but breast milk produces much less waste due to the fact that the nutrients in breast milk are nearly 100% absorbed. Good Luck!

I had the same problems with my little girl(breastfed). As far as the Karo and glycerin suppositories, they can be useful, but DO NOT use anything unless your doctor tells you it's ok. I know there is a difference in which Karo works and your nurse or doc can tell you that. Also, on the suppositories, they told me I could use them, but not the whole thing. They said to just insert the tip and hold it there till it's dissolved and throw the rest out. This was just to help lubricate the area to help them pass the hard plug that can develop. But like I said before, don't do anything unless your doc says it's ok. It is very normal for babies to have irregular bm's from time to time. Good Luck!

as long as baby is wetting her diapers and not dehydrated she can go up to 7 days w/o bowel movement. My daughter was breastfed and went a few days a couple of times, no worries! Any longer or other symptoms take her to the Dr.

Breast fed babies, the older they get, poop less. She can go up to 5 days without pooping, and its totally normal.
Okay, these people dont breast feed, except for the one lady.
Breast milk is almost completely digested and absorbed by the intestines. Completely. It takes a few months for the digestive system to get up and rolling well, so up until that point you will usually have a daily poo. But after a while, usually around the 3 month mark, babies will stop pooping every day.
Its normal. Like I said, 5 days or less is usual for a breast fed baby.

No, you don't need to worry. THat is very common at this age. My son is 6 months old and still has constipation problems. You only need to worry once it gets to about 7 days. Our dr. said he had seen babies going over a week sometimes. At a week they will usually give a glycerin suppository to help them out, but one day is not a problem.

He instructed me that he has seen breastfeed toddlers circulate as long as 2 a million/2 weeks, it somewhat is by using fact breastmilk is the only ingredient that could be one hundred% digested- meaning in the experience that your toddler desires the food then their physique will take in all the appropriate milk and have no poops!!! He additionally instructed me to no longer use something, alongside with a suppository or the rest, when you consider which you will then be removing the nuitrients that the toddler desires, if she did no longer choose them she might poop them out... Being that your toddler is having some solids i do no longer think of i might enable her circulate 10 days, yet attempt and supply her some babyfood prunes, do no longer provide her the completed jar or you would be in for one massive mess!!!!!! as long as she is performing o.ok. and her abdomen isn't hard i'm particular she is fantastic, yet as a mom, in case you do no longer experience gentle, only provide your medical expert a call and enable them to appreciate what is going on! for this reason they get the massive greenbacks!!!! solid good fortune to you! Breastfed babies can go 5-7 days without pooping sometimes. Breastmilk is much easier to digest than formula, so there's not as much excess to filter out and poo as often.

That is very common about newborns. Once baby went 2 days without having to go. Just giver a one ounce of water and 1 tsp of dark karo syrup that you can buy at local grocery store. She will go instantly. But don't worry, if anything call your doctor.
Good Luck, Mother of 2 six month old twins

No don't be scared she may need some time for the food to pass. It is normal for babies not to poop for 2-3 days. Don't get worried until she hasn't pooped for a couple more days!
