I am 110% against current women's rights, if they wanted to be equal, they should be treated equal, not like a queen. Same pros of equal rights for anyone else. People are happier when they have rights that are respected. Think about it, would you be happy if someone could kill you legally today just for the fun of it? Or beat you? Or steal your things? Rape you, take away your children, torture you, imprison you, forbid you from going where you wanted, learning what you wanted, try to take away your dignity, treat you like cattle, buy and sell you, take away your voice, treat you like a child or a criminal just for being who you are or y`know, kill you.
If human dignity isn`t enough of a reason for equal rights, which is enough for a lot of people either for religious or reasons of conscious, happy people make the world better.
Happy people work more and happy workers make the system work and that makes everyone happy. Possibly the oddest and creepiest argument for equal rights ever but it`s true. Without rights women are forced into roles without the chance to use their minds for the greater betterment of mankind. Another purely selfish reason for equal rights but since 'then people are equal' isn`t enough, why would you stop anyone from becoming the doctor who could save your life one day? Or why would you stop the flow of information to people who may be able to do great things with it?
In theory there are women who believe themselves to be happy without rights, but how would they know unless they have the freedom to choose?
Personally I`m happy right now having rights. I`m online typing whatever I want without fear of someone coming in and beating me because of it. I`m relaxing with a mug of tea and some nice music not married with 6 children with another one on the way. My job isn`t cooking, cleaning, having and raising children between the beatings of my husband. The pros and cons sort themselves out pretty quickly. I get the choice of how I want to make the world a better place, I can have as many or as few children as I want, when I want and I can do it on my terms.
