Why is everyone just passing on the same angry "e-rumor"? Why not read what Obama had to say about it?

I'm not voting for him, because I think the last thing we need is a democrat in charge, but he is a good man and has never done anything to suggest disrespect for our country and its symbols. Internet addicts need to use the internet for information, not circulating unfounded rumors.

Thanks, Lettie, for the informed voice of reason! And Obama is a practicing Christian. Oprah supports him because she agrees with his policies and is also a member of his church. She knows him personally. Although I'm no Oprah-watcher, I think she has more reason for her actions than people who judge candidates based on their lapel-pins, religious affiliation, or scientific beliefs.

Barack Obama did not refuse to salute the flag. He just did not salute the National Anthem. Have you ever seen anyone salute the National Anthem at a big sporting event. I just went to a large sporting event last week (a college basketball game) with 25,000 people there. Not one of them was saluting the National Anthem. Everyone was standing in reverence with their hands clasped either in front of them or behind them and some just had their hands at their sides. It is not mandatory in this country to salute the National Anthem. He salutes the flag before every Senate session and recites the Pledge of Allegiance.

he's the President of the US. Barack Hussein Obama, is his finished call. With a popularity like this, and his anti American tactics, it makes some human beings ask your self who he's fairly working for.

Lettie & Jessie, you've done a really nice job of clarifying this issue for many people who listen to rumors instead of searching out the truth for themselves...even when the means is given to them (i.e. the provided link)

Just another example of YAnswers users...the informed and the froward.

It is so amazing that people judge without any information, even now, with this link that you have posted, there are people spouting off about him disrespecting the constitution, and the country.
He didn't put his hand on his heart when they were singing the national anthem...NOT the pledge of allegiance. He was singing the anthem, that sounds pretty American to me.
And whats with all the mudslinging about his being Muslim? Last I checked, the constitution also provided for religious freedom. We do still live in America right?
Weather or not I vote for Obama, he is still human, and an American, and does not deserve all of the crap being thrown at him from the HRC camp. and all of the ignorant people believing it without trying to get any information on their own.

Think about your question for a second and you will find the answer. Why would a presidential candidate ever refuse to salute a flag?

I don't understand the hand on your heart for the national anthem.you can do what you want but it isn't required. The hate, even here can be attributed to race.I'm not an authority on this, since I grew up in an area that was as diverse in color as the snowbank in front of my house. That being said I can't understand why people hate Obama,or maybe they want to build up Hillary at the expense of others. This election will be one of the most interesting of my life.

I don't know. I do know this is going around. However he is the last person in the world who needs to be president so that is reason enough not to vote for him. I di not hear this on the internet but on the local news on TV.

If you don't consider going against the constitution disrespecting the country then I suggest you do a bit more research.

Republicans put so much weight on a flag and this picture is just a dirty trick to try an convince a misinformed american public that Republicans are the only people who care about America

I agree. This is just more senseless mud-slinging that doesn't mean half as much as the slingers like to think. Politics are like that. People will blow a little thing out of proportion to get their own slimy, corrupt official in office instead of a cleaner, fresh guy like Obama.
