whenever she wants!!
for now.....just sleep when she sleeps and you will be fine.
if she sleeps through the night at two months......you are so lucky!! i wouldn't count on it though.....most babies don't. it takes awhile for them to realize that nighttime is uninteresting.
keep the lights off and comfort her. eventually she'll realize that sleeping at night is better as the daytime is more fun.
best wishes........and enjoy it! trust me, it doesn't last long.

Well, my 3 month old now has a problem of waking TOO early but for awhile there...it was...
bath around 7-7:30, with a lotion massage after (she caught on to that quickly, and loves it)
8pm, a warm bottle (a little warmer then the day bottles, seems to make her sleepy, and get burps out a little better)
8:30, I play THE SAME song (a classical lullaby) as I put her down, with a pacifier.
It has gotten to the point now, after a month, that when she hears that song, her eyes begin to close. She is normally out like a light right away.
She will sleep soundly until atleast 2 (that's 5 hours, and most consider that "through the night") even though we as adults do not. She wakes for a bottle then, and will doze back off. Now granted, we have run into this lovely problem of getting up to start the day at 3 or 4 am, but there is always bumps I guess. It just makes for a very tired mom =(
Babies love routines...before I started the massage and music combo she would fuss and not "let go" to be able to sleep.

Our daughter started sleeping through the night just before she was 2 months old. I cluster nursed her at 5,7 and 9 pm. She usually fell asleep at 9:30 or 10 pm and wouldn't wake up until 7:30 or 8 pm.
She always slept quite well though even as a newborn she would sleep 6 hours, feed for half an hour and then sleep another 4-6 hours. We were very lucky! When she is teething though she does wake up in the night sometimes again, she is 9 months old now.

When my boy was 2mo old I would make sure to keep him up with only maybe one cat nap from the time daddy got home from work (4pm) til we went to bed at 8 or 830. Then I would feed him b4 bed and he wouldn't wake up til 1 or 2. Another bottle then sleep til 5 then another bottle and sleep til 7 or 8! Then he just started to sleep through the nights as the months went by. But although when I had brought him home he would only wake at night for a bottle then go right back to sleep. I guess every baby is different. It really helps to establish a bed time routine even this early in life, do the same thing every night so baby knows what to expect. That's when I started routine and my son is 8 mo now and goes down for bed time like a champ, because we do same thing every night at the same time, dinner, bath ,bottle, bed! I'm sure I won't be so lucky the next time around! LOL Good luck!

Read the book "Babywise" Very important question you have and a routine is important to start now. Even if baby is only 2 months, you can develop a routine, make her feel secure and get some sleep at night! Whew! My kids both slept through the night down at 7:30 up at 5 am at around 4-5 months old. I would never have thought it possible but the book gives you great tools! You can find it at book stores, Wal-mart sometimes and of course the library it's not that long but Powerful to a new mom! Good Luck!

Well... my son is five months now but he has slept through the night for months. I lay him down around 8:30 and if I wake him up he gets up at 5:30, If it is a day I am off he will sleep til 8-9. One of the most common reasons a baby wakes up after the first few months is they are hungry. Try to increase what you feed her before bed time. You could try a few more ounces, some rice or baby food.

At that young my son usually stayed up until almost 10pm each night and would, at that point, sleep through the night... maybe wake up once to eat and then go right back to sleep. As he got older, he started getting on his own time and would get sleepy earlier and earlier. Now he goes to bed at 8pm. He is 6 months and though he sleeps through the night most of the time he still occassionally wakes up for a feeding. The feeding usually puts him back to sleep immediately. Maybe if you establish a routine this could help- play with her for a while before giving her a bath and then give her the bottle right before going to sleep to maximize the time she will sleep.

My son was sleeping through the night in his own bed at 2-1/2 weeks old, on his own. I would give him a awarm bath, rub him down with baby Aveeno with the nighttime scent to it(lavender), give him a really good nurse, and have him in bed by 9:30 pm. He would sleep through till 8 am the next morning. Get up, get chenged, nurse again and then go back to sleep for another 2 hours or so.

If she breast feeds she'll be up a lot, but she should go right back down when she's done nursing.
My son went to bed at 830 sharp from birth. It doesnt mean he went to sleep then, it took about three weeks from birth for him to get into the routine of falling asleep. He'd wake up around 1-2 to nurse and then again around 5-6 and then up for good around 7-9 the next morning. That routine stuck until he was about 3 months old, and then he started sleeping clear through.

My baby goes to bed between 7 and 8 in the evening (doesn't fall asleep easily), and on a good night wakes up at 2:20am and at 6:30 for feeds. (On a bad night wakes up every two hours from 7pm to 9am, and won't settle back easily). Occasionally treats us to 10 hours of sleep (it happened twice in the first four months). The routine is bath or change, quiet play, cuddles, sleeping bag, feed, song, comfort blanket. Can't claim it works perfectly though, as we occasionally still end up having to take her in bed with us after the 3am feed because she won't settle otherwise!
The doctor told me to wait until the baby weighed over 5kg before attempting sleeping through the night - she said before that babies physically need their four-hourly feeds.
Have a look at "What to expect...in the first year", it is a very good and informative book with lots of practical advice month by month.
