Lets say the Dolphins won this weekend, then they beat the Patriots and all the haters would be going wild, but then the dolphins won their last game too and the Pats got the first overall pick in next season's draft and the haters wouldn't just cry us rivers, they'd cry us an ocean

First, yes it would be funny.
Second, I think the Patriots ARE going to have that option pretty much. Either way, I think they will take Darren McFadden with whatever pick they have - First, Second, or Third. The Dolphins are going to take a QB anyway, and the Patriots are most likely going to be the second or third overall pick. If Atlanta goes ahead of them, they'll take a QB as well. So you see, essentially, hey ARE getting their pick of best college players that are not QBs. The thought scares me. They might as well have the first pick.
Let the tears come.

Somehow people would be calling it a conspiracy some how. That the Pats threw this weekend's game; and the team that the Dolphins play in their last game threw the game; and the 49ers threw their last games; and the NFL orchestrated it all to help the Patriots continue being the best team in the NFL. Maybe because the Pats are building a new addition to their stadium that will house the Press and all. Something stupid will definitely come out of it. You can bet on it. No one can just accept that the Pats are the best due to their TEAM plan; the BEST coach in the NFL; and the BEST ownership in the NFL.

That wouldn't really be that funny. For this year's draft there are several top-rated picks, so getting second pick really is fine. What is more, you don't have to pay a second-pick rookie as much as a first-pick. That scenario might actually be GOOD for the Dolphins!
What would be even MORE hilarious would be if the Pats go undefeated... until the Superbowl. Ouch.

I dont think that miami beating the Patriots will happen, so the Pats haters will simply have to find another nit pick reason to bash the Pats......Like perhaps running up the score just to spite Shula's remarks.

Yeah but to make my tired of the Patriots fans day complete I'd hope the Colts win out and the Patriots LOSE out so the Colts get the Number 1 seed, just to get something out of all that. To be fair that would still be kinda funny to see it happen. To be fair I don't know who holds all the tie breakers though, so would the Dolphins move ahead of the 49ers(assuming they lose out).

Would they lose on purpose to get the first pick? If it was any other team, I'd say 'no', but with the Pats, you just don't know what they are capable of.

It would be funny, as a pats fan I can tell you that we do indeed always have trouble with miami... but this year they really really suck and we are really really good, so I think even if our second string guys played, we could still beat the dolphins!
