Carrots can be crunchy and bright orange in colour,
Some folks might think of another,
Some folks would say Corn, Peas or Potato,
But if red is the colour, they think of Tomato.
Kale,Okra ,Squash,Parsnips or Broccoli
Wouldn't make it------------not likely
Brussel Sprouts, Spinach, if you get the gist
Would probably be at the bottom of the list.
So Lettuce us rejoice, there are veggies we love and we hate
Gee------ I should have had a V8.

Maybe because carrot help u see thing so if ppl are seeing a veg in there head they think of sight and carrots pop in there heads

Ok - Psycho Analytical hat on now:
Carrots are a bright coloured vegetable that is widely availably throughout the western world. It is cheap and can be eaten both cooked and raw so is therefore extremely common in many dishes.
It is also an extremely Phallic shape - a shape which probably sticks in our minds because of the human obsession with sex and reproduction (or so Freud would have you believe).

Because they're in everything. I'm allergic to carrots - trust me, even things that don't list them on the menu have them grated up and sprinkled through every inch of the food, giving me the choice of sending the meal back or being polite and breaking out in a rash. Grated carrots are in EVERYTHING I tell you because they're cheap, they take up space, they've got a mild enough flavor they don't hurt anything and they make people feel like they're eating something healthy.

can't say i've ever felt inclined to ask anyone about vegetables. Probably because carrots are the most common veg that everyone eats

The color orange is bright and sticks in their minds would be my best guess. It actually was not the first one I thought of. Or it could be that more people like carrots, as they are slightly sweet.

Sorry, I thought corn, and then started thinking about what a vegetable is. Technically tomatoes are fruit, carrots are tubular, corn is a grain...
