I live in an apt complex that has been being renovated since the beginning of summer! They are remodeling the unit below us and the banging, drilling, etc, always started at 8am. For the past several days, I have noticed they are working earlier. Yesterday, around 7:45 and today 7:30. My son is still sleeping(little sweetheart),but I know he will be up soon because of the noise. Isn't there some kind of law that says construction shouldn't begin til 8am? I feel they are pushing their luck, and I'm getting mad about this.
Oh, what do you know? My son's up.
Please help. Thanks.

My local noise ordinances allow for construction from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Have a next door neighbor that has been building an addition for the last three years, it does get very annoying.

They're not pushing their luck at all. You've just been fortunate that they have started as late as 8:00 previously. 7:00 AM is considered the start of the workday for construction workers, and that's when they are allowed to start making noise.

Hehe....and don't bother asking your landlord to have them come later, as suggested. Construction workers are not about to reschedule THEIR days to accommodate your desire for 'quiet time'.

whether your apartment is run by a Society. or rental. If it is a society you can complain abt this to the Secretary, if he is not taking any action, go to the cooperative registrar office.

If it is a rental one, and if you cant amicably settle the issue with the people concerned, go to Human Resources Office and complain.
