Its not getting stupider, its just that the stupid has been invited to come out and play whereas before stupid was expected to stay quiet in the corner. Now stupid is the guest of honor.

What you are witnessing is a political "beauty pageant". The parties have yet to decide on who will be their nominees for President and Vice President. That won't happen until the middle of 2008.
But, all of this nonsense does serve a purpose. It is creating a quiet little movement for the major parties to quit relying on these pageants to select their nominees and go back to the convention system prior to the 1960s.

It is getting really scary, that idiot could end up getting elected, and if past voting patterns mean anything, he actually stands a chance NOT.
