Is it ok to give it to them even though you can only see their backside or should you wait until they turn around? If I wait until the turn around, they might notice it is me and reject my attrempt to console them. If they are not looking, they will appreciate it?

sneak hugs are great! lol. It depends...I loved it when my boyfriend hugged me from behind, it felt amazing!

I'm a hugger from way back so I say, touch the person lightly on the shoulder. When they turn around, ask them if you could give them a hug. Sometimes when you ask someone if they need one or looks like the need one it makes them feel needy.And further make them feel down. But if it's kind of disguised that you'd like one or you need one from THEM, it changes the whole feeling, even if they really know. So, start huggin'!

a hug is never complete if the person whom you are giving a hug is not facing you.
a backside hug is not a hug.
so wait until they turn around- the possibility of someone rejecting a hug is remote, so take that chance.

I would wait until they turned around. If they reject you then maybe they don't want to be hugged, that should be respected.

No. You face them and tell them they look as though they could use a hug and ask if you could give them one. Wait for their answer and if they say no, then don't.
You don't grab someone from behind these days without consequence.

Walk up and place you hand on there back and kneel beside them(This is if they are sitting down on ground, if they are standing, Just do it while standing) while your hand still on there back and start moving it, liek your rubbing there back, and Tell them something of upliftment, like you might do that then lean over and put your arm around them and hug em with one arm and say, " Ill always be here for you".

if they will reject you if they are facing you ..
theres no diffenrence if you hug them from the back ..
i think if u really want to give a hug just do it from the front ..
everyone will appreciate a hug from front or back tho ..

It depends... a hug from behind by a man is GREAT. But, only if I know who it is..
