I would like to download the saved material in my DVR and burn the items to DVD. Is this possible and if so, how do I do it?

No. While the connections are there at the back of the box, they are disabled.

Hi Nick

Its easier to watch the material and copy to a stand alone DVD recorder connected to the video and audio outputs of the box. But some people have figured out hacks to get into boxes. Problem is hacking the boxes is not in the cable or satellite company contract. If it is your own personal TIVO you might have more luck. And if it is your REPLAY TV you should be able to find people on the internet to tell you how to share files from that. My family members share files with Replay TV boxes and burn them for each other.

Not as files or data you can pull off. It is at least encrypted to prevent the content piracy you indent to commit. The owners of that content (not you, you have a very limited license), would like you to pay more for the priveledge of keeping copies of their works to watch when/where you want. Your subscription to a pay TV provider really only permits short term keeping if anything. If you have to , you need to copy the analog A/V playing, to a recorder or a capture device on your computer.
