The worst gift I've ever received was an old and worn soft toy but that was for my birthday.
The worst Christmas gift ever was a gift exchange we had at church. We were told to bring gifts of value not less than $5. Poor me received an old ornament in the shape of a bell.
It's just rude to give away old stuff which you dun want anymore.

One year my step mother bought me and my brother the same book - a biography of John Lennon. Another year she gave me a pack of six random novels that were shrink wrapped together - like a brick of books. And my brother generally gives me books related to the Beat Generation - an interest I grew out of some 10-15 years ago....

My wife gave me a miniature wood lathe that was supposed to be powered by a hand drill clamped onto it's frame, but didn't give me a drill with it. Basically it was a completely useless item, that I never would have any use for in the first place. We're divorced now but I still do woodworking and have a real lathe.

One of my best friends once gave me a huge jar of animal crackers. I have no idea why, to this day. From that moment on I told her we're nixing gifts and just going out to dinner every year. It's worked out much better since!!

I used to have a Sit 'n' Spin when I was a little kid and I loved it. However, my parents thought it would be cute to get me one last year, I guess for 'old times sake.' Hello, I'm 27, I don't have kids. What the he** am I going to do with that?

a door stopper. It's the oddest gift I ever received. Maybe the person thought I needed one to keep my door open?

A pizza cutter that my friend got out of her kitchen draw and wrapped in tissue paper. So crappy. You really can't even say it's the thought that counts with that one.

When I was a teen-ager someone gave me $10.
It wasn't the amount of the gift that bothered me....it was because I would have rathered they took the time to go out and buy me something.
