I see one in Dedham, but I drive to Cambridge from NH each week and my friend and I wanted to celebrate our last class of the semester with a Krispy Kreme (we've never had one). She thought there was one on Rte. 1, but I am finding nothing except down south of Boston.

Use to be one right next to the Wellington Station on the Orange line in Medford. Another was in the Prudental center, but they both are no longer there. Go to krispykreme.com and select locations to find one near you. I feel the donuts are far better than DD, but DD has a strenglehold on the coffee.

The closest Krispy Kreme store to the Boston area is at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT. There are still some grocery (Shaws, maybe?) and convenience stores that carry them, but it's either individually or in boxes of 6 or 12.

Many factors conspired to Krispy Kreme's failure in the Northeast: the bookkeeping scandal that forced them to close many of their stores, Boston's love for hometown Dunkin Donuts, the emphasis on coffee over baked goods.

So, there may not be any Krispy Kreme's in Boston, there's always wonderful Italian pastries in the North End.

Krispy Kreme didn't do so well when it tried to come to the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast region and most of them closed. There aren't any anymore near the Boston area.

They closed the one in the Prudential Center....sometimes you can buy them at the grocery store and then nuke them in your microwave..the originals are the best!
