About one month after I met my present hubby he took me to his moms house for Easter. He did not want me to be alone. I said we were just friends but his family knew him much better than I did and they knew if he brought someone home to moms it would be much more. They were right.

At my husbands Christmas party for work 7-8 yrs ago. I introduced myself as his friend. These people knew he was a serious person and if I was there I was more than a friend. But I did not know him that well at that time. I was slow on the uptake after an abusive marriage and a lot of years alone. I feared to let a man into my life because I had young girls to raise and protect.

I have said that many times. I have a lot of "Women Friends" that are just that and not love interests. If I have a party to go to and don't want to go solo, I will ask one of them.

One time, I asked a lesbian friend to go to a Christmas Party with me with the blessings of her girlfriend. Since at the time, she was a MSgt in the AF, she figured it was good for her reputation.

The other thing I have said which is a whole different thing is, "We can still be friends." :+}

Shortly after Thanksgiving, this year....when someone made a comment about my family, including myself, going to my ex hubby's home for T-G day....and insinuating we should get back together...I said "Nope, we're just friends..."

About a male friend, with something going on on the side...never. I have always been up front about my relationships.

i said it two days ago and yes, it is the absolute truth.....whilst truth be told, i do prefer the friendly company of men over women because I dont dig the whole competitive, jealous catty bullshit than women friends put me through.... So with my guy friends, I am known as one of the boys..... they call me to hang out every weekend......
