yes they can live, but you need to separate them from the adults. most fish will eat the babies when confined to a aquarium. if you dont have a sepert tank to put them in that sell a breader net, for a few bucks, that just hangs on the side of the tank. they do need to eat more oftan then the adults. i feed my babies 3 times a day the first week or so. and i feed them crushed flake food. i used a spoon and a cup to grind some flake foon into a power. you will need to keep them separated untill there big enough to not fit in the mouth of the other fish.

As everyone has said the problems you are having are because your tank isn't cycled, but that's your lesson learned. The water changes are important, you must use some form of chlorine neutralizer and make sure the fresh water is the SAME TEMPERATURE as the tank water. before you add it. IMPORTANT... DO NOT USE DISTILLED WATER. If you are really concerned about your tap water buy regular filtered drinking water. Be prepared to lose more fish even if you do everything right from this point as they will be severely weakened by the cycling process. If once the tank has cycled you want to restock, do it a little at a time. Adding too many fish at once could upset the bio and you will have the same problems. Good luck Edit. with additional The problem you are having is not the water, it's the ammonia from the waste that the fish produce. There isn't enough good ammonia eating bacteria in the tank yet to neutralize this so the water is being polluted. The water changes remove the ammonia that is in the removed water and dilute it in the remaining water.

I am assuming these are either guppy, platies, mollies or swords...a live bearer.

Unless you have a place for them to hide they will not live. A heavily planted tank is the best...or at least a corner of live plants like Java Moss or Java Fern. If you don't have that, then the only way they will survive is to remove them from the tank and grow them out in a different tank. You can get a plastic container called a guppy breeder to keep them in...or a net breeder...either way, this hangs on the side of the large tank but keeps the babies safe from the adults.

These fry will have to have the flake food crushed into a powder for it to be small enough for them to eat.

Good luck!

a great way that I always recommend is buying a Breeder to dive the fry (newborn) from the others in the tank, because they will get eaten. They best way to keep them safe with out removing them from the tank. Them get some live plant and place them in (just a strip should do them good) this is like food and a hide out for them. They are some fry food u can give them also.

Yes, but I'd put them into a different tank so they don't get eaten. Some may survive if your tank is well planted, so there is somewhere to hide. But if you're already attached to all of them, I'd put them into a smaller tank. Lots of babies die from all of the smimming about they have to do in a large community tank, if they don't get eaten first by bigger fish. It's hard for them to find food and stay out of the way of bigger fish. Also, if your larger tank has a filter, some smal fish can sometimes get sucked into that. A small tank with slower flowing water is your best bet, or one that fits inside your larger tank, with suction cups to fix it to the side of the glass...Then your bigger fish can get used to them being around, without being able to eat them!

Usually you have to by a little box thing that they will swim into to protect themselves. You can buy it at your fish supply store. We had minnows and if you didn't have one, the mother ate the babies.
if your asking if there is enough room in the tank. I think so. I just wouldnt have too many more.(Give them away but we never had a problem with them reproducing too fast)

The best way to raise fry is to heavily plant your tank so they have lots of hiding places. This works out very well for alot of people

Ummmmmmmmmmm...................In any way, they can't.If they are not goldfishes, they can also get eaten and a goldfish needs at least 10 gallons of water. THey can get eaten by the adults too! If they aren't seperated.

no. they will not live unless you seperate them. buy another aquarium and put them in it. or you could put them in a breeding net.
