For the last week my penis has been itching. Rubbing it is quite pleasurable but I dont know why it has been like that. I feel a slight irritation when I do pee. What should I do in order to reduce the itchiness?

It can be itching due to plenty of things.
Have you had sex lately? Or masterbated lately?
If you have, what kind of lube, if any, did you use?
Etc.
You may have 'crabs' or an std.
'Crabs' can be caught just from sitting in nasty bathrooms.

Burning while using the bathroom is a sign of a few diseases actually. You should go see a doctor and get a blood test for sure. It may go away and you may feel relieved, but STD's cycle through phases or remission, so the next time it comes back, and it will unless you treat it, it could do a lot of horrible things. Google some pics of advanced cases of STD's, you get the idea, quite nasty. The good news is that most cases are curable, well except Herpes and HIV, they have no cure, but gonorrhea and chlamydia, things like that are totally treatable with a cycle of antibiotics.

Definately don't reach for the Icy Hot like somebody suggested, that will burn to no end, think that was irony on his/her part.

Are you uncut or cut? If you're uncut and only your foreskin itches, just clean under the foreskin well, and the itching should go away in about a day or so. If you're cut, clean it where it itches and that should also help as well. Wash your hands before touching it, that way you wont pass germs that could cause it to become further irritated. I don't think it's an STD or anything serious, just a minor irritation.

Irritation when peeing could indicate yeast infection, but not necessarily. The itching might just be from dry skin in which case a lotion like Man1 Man Oil might be all you need. But get checked out, since both itching and irritation could indicate some form of infection.

See a doctor. If you're sexually active it could be an STD if you're not then maybe it's just a yeast infection but either way it sucks I'm sure so, yeah, go see a doctor.

probably just a male yeast infection?

treat yourself and your partner... (yeast is transfered during sexual activities as well!!)

could be a bad STD... but most of those don't present themselves as symptoms in men. go to a clinic if the regular doctor says its not yeast.
