I am a international student studying in a midwestern american university. There are numerous scholarships available in most of the american universities and they are available for international students also. If you want to find out about a uni that is matching to you, go to www.usnews.com, that's the most prominent, reliable website.
If your academic standing in england is good, and is recognisable in the us, then definitely you will be accepted for a full/partial schol. If you show good academic progress in the us, then you will be accepted for a schol. But you have to apply for every schol that is available in the uni website. SAT is definitely the easiest way to be accepted to a uni. But if you need a full schol, i think excellent results for london a/l (o/l?) exam should be considered. Also understand that academics is not the only criteria in us schol acceptance. there are many criteria such as need-based acceptance, extra curricular activities, special skills, sports skills etc.
But for a international student, to get a full schol he/she shd have exceptional academic or whatever talent. Also you don't have to complete the full degree in the us. for example, if you take cambridge/london a/l exam and pass it, and if you produce your result sheet, you may not have to take some of the 1st, 2nd yr courses in the us uni. so ,there are some course that r transferrable to the us uni. Overall, once when u get a degree from a us uni ,it is very reputable worlwide and rewarding. you will also get the chance to associate wi students worldwide.

It would probably be easier for you to take an SAT if possible. But i know that for international students you can take a different exam; it really depends on the University. Most colleges and Universities have scholarships dedicated wholy to international students so you should be able to get a decent scholarship. But you can also get a bunch of money by getting a decent SAT score.

In california there is USC, UC Berkley, and UCLA to name a few. You could also consider some in New York or Boston (there are a lot of international students there)...hope this helps!

You'll most likely have to take the ACTs and possibly take the SATs as well, but doing both never hurts and most likely increases your chances of getting in to the school of your choice.

As for scholarships, that all depends on what you did in school in England. There may be some pretty good scholarships simply for international students but I doubt many of them are full ride. Either way, if you look hard enough and work hard enough you should be able to find, and possibly aquire, several scholarships which will at the very least be extremely beneficial. So is it possible for you to get a full ride scholarship? Yes but getting full ride scholarships is pretty difficult in general.

Yes they do. Especially the D1 schools. Look into programs that you are interested in.
