I guess they don't want to discuss the nine trillion dollar National Debt and why the Republican Congress and Republican President doubled it.

Because the republicans must cater to the Christian Conservatives. When in all actuality a person's religion should be the LEAST thing you should be worrying about when choosing a candidate. Satan himself would call himself a Christian if you would follow him and support him. So why is it a big deal to get a Christian in office? He can be as evil any anyone else.

There are three things that inflame passion, Sex, Religion and Politics. Since the politicians will never discuss the embarrasment of politics they talk about religion. This is also a tactice to polarize the public and steer votes away from a candidate than has a diffenent or unusual religion. The same thing happened to Kennedy but his family had enough money to by the pest PR and he won.

The issue ofo religion is not relevant to the issue of political parformance and consideration of a leader of this country. They will not discuss the real issues because it will embarass all of them.

Because one of the primary blocs in the Republican party are the religious right, which has shown some concerns over some of the candidates religions, particularly Romney. Also the rest of the country is suspicious of another born again fundamentalist president, Huckabee.

As to the "liberal" media focusing on these issues, then why is Fox following suit?

While I agree with you that I really don't care about a candidate's religion, I hardly think the primary is a debate about denominations.

Besides, if you want to talk about something fun, there's Iraq, the 9 trillion dollar debt, our dependence on foreign oil, our trade deficit, etc. Woo hoo!!!!!

By debating religion they do what Republicans do naturally they avoid the real issues to inject religion into politics.

We are a Christian conservative society and these questions reflect what a majority of American citizens want.

Because the kooky left (like CNN) keep asking those questions! The left wants to stay on these topics so they can trip them up and make a big headline like, "Mr. Evangelist says all buffalos are going to hell". It's tactics, man, tactics!!! Wow, what a surprise! Thumbs down!!
