sure why not, I mean if that will make Oprah happy I say let the little black man have a shot at it, if she thinks hes qualified , that's good enough for me. Will that end all this racial inequity argument in America finally? I mean if a black is elected then it seems to me we don't have to put up with ANY more crap from Jesse Jackson, or AL sharpton or harry belefonte or the endless stream of whiners from the black community about whitey keeping them down right? if fact I think I will vote for a black , Muslim( he was raised and educated in a madrassa ) this could be good for the country.

Oprah, along with many American blacks are VERY racist to white people. Blacks seem to be the only race that has a problem with assimilating in to being an American first, and an African person second.
I find it amusing how first and second generation asian imigrants in my area try hard to speak properly. Especially seeing as some sounds of the english language don't exist in theirs. At the same time, I know blacks that have been here in New York for 5-7 generations, but still feel they need to speak like they just came out of the cotton fields of Mark Twain's Mississippi.
I find it ghastly that it is ok to have things like B.E.T. , the NAACP, ***** College Fund, Etc, but substitute the word "White" or "Caucasian" for the words Black, ***** or Colored and you'd be considered cross buring sheet wearers for starting such a thing.
I do not like Obama because he walks in this racist path. I have no problem with someone black or female as president. I'd happily support Dr. Rice, had she been in the running. She's both black and female. the difference is that she is neither racist or militant feminist. What she is, is a human being that is qualified, experienced and level headed enough for the job. I cannot say the same for Hillary or Obama. As for Edwards, he's just a looser.
People need to stop worring about race and gender, and start rememebering their facts, figures and history. They show that the Democrats continually eff up this country and it's the Republican's that end up making the hard choices to fix it.
Bush 43 is by far not the best president we've had. But he's certainly done a better job than Bubba Bill. The Democrats are preying on people who do not understand how a federalist republic's goverment works, and make them feel they need change. We just need a more popular Republican leader. Bush cannot be re=elected, so there will be change.
I would also like to remind folk that the alternative to Bush 43 was John FONDA Kerry.

I like Obama....but I agree that we need the best person on the job whether they are white, black, green, or purple. And I don't care if our next president is a man or woman. And so far I think Obama has done a good job of not making race an issue. And its surprising that Oprah chose to.

particular, i visit concede that many human beings have been unhappy with Bush, and blamed all Republicans via default. This became premiere in moderates. there's a phenomenon in this united states of america referred to as "White guilt." It did account for some Whites vote casting for the President to teach that they weren't racist, or to a technique or the different account for the sins of their grandfathers. In any adventure, President Obama gained, so it fairly is a mute factor. The question now, is the place do we go from here?

A simple answer to your question would be "no,he should not".But since we have Oprah spouting her rhetoric,it becomes a little more complicated. The white race is simply becoming tired of the whole concept that blacks can use race as an issue and whites can't.All she's going to do is encourage more white people to vote against him.

I respect Oprah, but I will say that we as a people need the best man or woman for the job. Our country is going into the crapper and all we are hearing is that either a black man could win or a woman could win. We need a leader that can fix the problem, not a leader that will make the cover of magazines just because of race or gender.
I will spend more time now looking at who will be best fitted to run this country and get us out of the mess we are in now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe she means the Democrats when she says it's their turn. Personally I don't see much difference between Obama and his white counterparts. He's a little too hawkish for me, so he won't get my vote in the Iowa Caucus, but if it comes down to him and a pro war Republican in the general election, I'll consider him, though I would feel dirty if I cast a vote for a Democrat or a Republican. I always vote for third parties and independents. The Democrats and Republicans haven't offered me anybody good to vote for in decades.

If he wins, it should be because he seems to be a brilliant man and a positive, inspiring leader. Since we also have other candidates with these same qualities -- Richardson, Edwards, Clinton . . . roughly in that order . . . it should be an interesting race, and ultimately good for America.
