Hi,

Im not 100% sure, but i don't think your protected stright away.
I think the pill takes a while to get into your system.
One thing i do know is that although you are taking the pill for birth control it CAN NOT guarantee that you will not get pregnant.
I believe the pill is 92% accurate in stopping unwanted pregnancy.
If you get ill that can also affect the way the pill works, which could result in unplanned pregnancy, if your unsure about anything if i was you i would see my g.p or family planning clinic.
But for now i would invest in some condoms & use them.
Hope this helps you hun. xxxxx

Yes you are protected after 2 weeks so long as you have taken it totally as prescibed, haven't missed any and have not taken any other form of medication that could interfear with it (anti-biotics) Hope this helps to put your mind at ease Take care and be safe remember if your in any doubt about your pill make him wear a condom (2seconds of embaresment is better than a life of regret !!)

yeah id say you would be, but to be on the safe side, when having sex just make sure you get the person to wear protection. the pill isnt 100% effective and either is the condoms either. also pulling out dont work either. anyways just to be safe use extra protection. good luck and its good to see that your taking the pill if your not ready for a baby.

yes, generally it takes a week of consistent use.

take at the same time of day for the most protection

it can take up to 3 months to be fully effective. also, it's only about 95% effective if the guy doesn't use a condom, so he should unless you still want that chance.

and you have to keep taking them, regularly, at the same time every day to be really effective.
