This problem has happened a couple of times after the car has been running then turned off for a few hours.Then when try to start has no spark from the coil.

I've seen the crank position sensor cause this in several 4.0 Jeeps,not to say this is the problem for sure but I'd look in to the possibility.It's mounted on the top of the trans housing where it looks for a depression in the flywheel to give a signal to the computer.

Change the crank shaft postioning sensor. I own a Jeep and have owned a several and that sensor is bad on jeeps

Your ASR may have kicked in read your trouble codes.
