Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. As a preteen, it showed me what dedication, hard work, and character can do as well as the fact that even the poorest person, the plainest person, or most insignificant person has their own personal dignity. Even if no one else sees anything to respect or admire in an individual, that person is as important as the child of royalty.

It taught me to treat everyone the exact same no matter who they are. To this day, people look at me strange if I ask a panhandler to excuse me or say "May I step past you please?" I think that it's a worthwhile lesson for everyone.

I would have to say that the movie Dune changed me forever. I fell in love with the characters and had to know more about it. I then started reading the books. At age 11 everyone thought I was crazy reading such big books.

As for the book that changed me the most I would have to say it was a romance novel. I used to sneak them at night with a flashlight under the covers since I was not supposed to be reading them.

I have always had a love of books and movies. Some I can read/watch over and over again and others 1 time was too many.

Oh, I liked secret history too but I would have never read it if I hadn't read the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton first. That was the book that turned me on to reading and I haven't stopped since!!!!!
