They work beautifully. What kind of car are you talking about?? Seriously, inside a Bosch diesel pump is a rotor, a lot of springs, and little firing pins, I call hammers. Fuel is brought up to the pump as it fires the spring-loaded hammers in sequence to each of the injectors lines and then to the injectors. The injectors also have little pins in the them called pintles. When the diesel pump is timed correctly, the "hammered" fuel arrives on time and the pressure that is made by these "hammers" drive the pintles in the injectors to open and release fuel under pressure.I hope this helps you!!
