Wounded pride, sweetie, it hurts a whole lot more altho recovery is a lot faster. A broken heart, however, is like a recurring pain - the kind that doesn't seem to go away.

Pride, which is defined as an 'unreasonable and inordinate over-esteem of one's self', is basically a very negative trait, and has been classified as one of the 'deadly sins' : As 'pride always goes before a fall', wounded pride will only hurt one's ego - and may even cause some good, by inducing a spell of realistic self-analysis.
But when one totally loves and trusts another with all of one's heart, only to get betrayed, cheated, and ditched, it is very hard to describe or quantify the resultant pain - which completely shakes up one's self-confidence and faith. A broken heart sure hurts most.

For me, a broken heart hurts more. It's a deeper hurt and made me understand how the feeling of "loathing" really is. My reaction to wounded pride is anger.

A Broken heart is very painful.
I think that I am well grounded. I have been corrected many times. I think it's very wise to receive correction in a positive manner.
No one want to be embarrassed so I understand how it would feel to have pride wounded among people.
It all depend on the situation.

Glass once broken/scratched can not be cured. Similarly is broken heart, similarly is wounded pride. It takes hundred years to earn pride and takes no time for loosing. Broken heart can not be healed, we should not break any One's.

For me it's a wounded pride. My heart can heal in time but my pride is rather difficult to swallow...how much more difficult it will be to bear a wounded pride =)

pride is a human frailty...even the most humble persons have some streaks of ego-trippin'...and when that ego (pride) is wounded the hurt is like a sharp stab...hence we have learned to fortify our defenses, e.g., denial.
also there is really no such thing as broken heart, per se...when we experience hurt in matters of the heart, it is really our ego (pride) that is being hit!!! rejection is a big blow to our ego...so is betrayal! and these two - rejection and betrayal - could really send anyone's ego crushing and bruising - BIG TIME!
so it's definitely wounded pride that packs the most hurt!!!!!!!
