The positive influences of technology are the advancement of the arts and sciences to the betterment of society ; the technological advances to the medical field have enabled humanity to live longer and with more quality of life; the ease of technological innovations have greatly enhanced the communications field so we can get numerous amount of mail in mere seconds.
The negative influences of technology is that it can lead to the enslavement of humanity ; humanity will not or try not to think for themselves; and the expense can be of an economic and sociological blindness.

A tool is what you make it. It can be bad or good.

I am a very involved computer / tech person. I have about ten computers, and everything is high tech.

I have come the the conclusion that technology makes life better, but IF USED AS A CRUTCH makes us more isolated, and at the extreme can damage one's life.

Example: I used to spend every moment indoors on the computer. Ten years later, all of my friends who didn't stay inside are married. As a result, I have no one to hang out with.

I was also the equivalent of human veal.

I got so disgusted I stopped using the pc unless I had to, and
try to do as much as I can manually. As a result, I have to interact with people, in doing so I made new friends, I went places, and am now healthy and have a happy life.

I still use tech like ipods and computers.

The key is to realize that when technology becomes a crutch to lean on, and is no longer a tool as it should be, it is time to pull back and save yourself like I did.
