I ordered some xmas pressies from a website and on my account it is saying 'open order'. The items were in stock so I'm not sure what this means-anyone know? I need them in time for xmas. I'm putting it on p&s in the hope someone might know!

Thanks guys, first year I have braved ordering xmas presents on line so am a little nervous about them getting here on time. It is a well known store, I'll give them a ring in a couple of days.

Just be patient and the transaction is being processed and so anytime expect the delivery.I feel your excitement, and your losing patience..and worst you get more panicky at this time because of many open order..hope they reach you in time before xmas................... the best thing you can do is follow it up...be sure you are consistent with it to see the neccesity and demand the availablity of your opoen order ok????Anyway, keep cool and expect just the best...........

An open order is one that hasn't been completed. If what you ordered is in stock and they aren't shipping promptly, call them and ask them when they are going to ship and when you are going to get it. If it's a small place they may be overwhelmed at Christmas and can't handle the orders promptly and you have the right to know if they are going to get it to you in a timely manner. I hope you have ordered from a reputable place. Lots of luck.

means they are in the process of filling it
when that gets done then it will be shipped or in transit

it means it is in the process of being ready to get shipped. it hasnt been shipped out yet....
