...I'm not really sure which Laural & Hardy short is considered the best of the bunch, but my personal favorite is 1930's "Below Zero", where the boys find a wallet in the street, with a lot of money. They treat a beat cop to a steak dinner, only to precariously find out that the wallet belongs to the cop; when the cop finds out, in typical L & H character luck, he pegs them both as thieves, and the boys, unable to really explain themselves, take their lumps anyways, in typically humourous and freakish style...
Ollie: "Stan, what happened to all the water in the barrel??"
Stan: (whimpering, as he exhibits, and struggles with an exaggeratedly large belly, the size of a giant watermelon) "I drank it"..
