He's in his early 60s, Scottish (but I don't think would appreciate Scottish-themed presents), has a sense of humour but dirty presents would NOT be appropriate. Price limit €10 (would probably buy about the same as US$10). I don't know anything else about what he's interested in, unfortunately (I only just started work here...) Thanks!

How about something fun but pintless. Ive just bought a tiny remote controlled helicopter from ebay for less than $10. Useless fun for any age. Make a joke of it by having post it notes he can attach to it........

Pounds are almost twice US dollars are, so 10 pounds are about $5, here.
Does your boss have a nice pen set, name plate, desk divider? Things he doesn't have on his desk you can find at an office supply store are not that personal, but very helpful. If it goes over the cost limit, look for smaller items. Having a smaller limit is so you don't burden your budget, or, especially with the boss, feel obligated to buy a more expensive gift simply because he is the boss.

Another place to look for presents in your price range is a "dollar store." Of course, yours would be called a "pound store" I believe. The idea is to look for things in smaller, cheaper stores. This isn't meant to pressure you. It's a fun thing at the office. (It also usually avoids the gifts like a handkerchief or tie that few people really want.)
Good luck, I love to know what you came up with.

cheap booze isn't classy and he may be one of those conservative or religious types that doesn't drink anyway. Everybody loves a nice big box of chocolates... but he may be diabetic. Hmm it seems I am coming up with no solutions for you... Right! Well why not just purchase a gift card to a department store or restaurant. If he likes coffee why not get him a gift certificate to a coffee shop? Everybody likes that. I would stick to something very conservative and very proper because he is an old man after all and its hard to know his interests or views.

Get him one of those desk calender note pads with cartoons on each page. I like "The Far Side" by Gary Larson but there are many different choices. Each day will remind him of the gift all year long and hopefully put a smile on his face at least once a day.

Make up a action picture basket or a bathtub basket. The action picture basket could be created from a huge popcorn bowl with action picture present certificates (to blockbuster or the theater), popcorn, candy, and wrapped up fairly. the tub basket can incorporate advantageous complementary smelling bubble baths, soaps, creams, and candles. She relatively did a robust pastime together with her record choosing issues that supplement one yet another. in case your no longer in to activities i might draw back from that decision and pass with between the others.

A bottle of Italian Grappa (white strong liquor) but I think 10 € are not enough. Why such a small amount? Doesn't he deserve more?

Get a generic gift, like "Corporate Flash Cards" or "how to be cool cards" something non-age specific!

Good Luck!

Food is pretty neutral...how about a big jar of mixed nuts...or a bottle of wine...or a couple 6-packs of beer...or some personalized stationary...or a gift card to a book store...oh, my brain is beginning to shut down! g'nite!

I always buy liquor for my bosses, they seem to like it. Not original, but do you really want to stand out?
