Granville Street is a hot spot for bars. For some reason the city decided they wanted to move all the Downtown bars to the one street. That critical mass makes weekends crazy. Fun to check out, but remember your traveling safety issues. Gastown also has some fun bars and pubs as well as touristy shopping. Robson Street is trendy/touristy shopping and restaurants and to hang out behind the Art Gallery. The building is probably hitting a record for number of movies it's been in. Usually doubling as City Hall of Midtown, USA.

The standard suggestions (You can tell by the name if that type of thing is you or not : Stanley Park and the Aquarium, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, Riverrock Casino.

Check out a hockey game! NHL games are always sold out, but one tip is last minute single seats are usually available. But if no games or too pricey try a WHL game. Your hotel should be able to help you with schedule and tickets.

If I only had four days in Vancouver, I'd do the Aquarium, the Botanical Garden and Japanese Garden (both on the UBC campus, so they can be done in one day), the Space Centre, the Maritime Museum, and the Vancouver Museum (those last three are all near each other, and can be done in a day and a half tops).

And then there's Whistler, of course...but it's a good two-hour drive from Vancouver, so that would easily take an entire day.
