Why is everything so watered down?

I was born in the 80's, and life in the 90's was soooo different. This has nothing to do with technology, I love it, I love being connected to the internet 24/7 and owning an Ipod. I'm talking about that feeling you got back in the 90's.....

Here are some examples...

90's Christmas--- You got that jolly feeling in your bones.
00's Chrstmas--- All I see is a damn pine tree in my living room.

90's TV--- Best cartoons, NICKELODEON, Pay Per View, Disney
00's TV--- Horrible stupid cartoons, so un-real, THEY DEMOLISH NICKELODEON STUDIOS, Disney sucks

90's Hip Hop--- Catchy, Pop-like, mainstream
00's Hip Hop--- Boring, either violent or comes with a stupid dance (soulja boy, lean wit it rock wit it)

90's Video Games--- VERY ADDICTING, basic but fun
00's Video Games--- CONFUSING, EXPENSIVE

NOT TO MENTION, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE GAS PRICES!

So who's/what's to blame? What happened in 2000? Was it George Bush? Was it 9/11/01? It feels like the feeling in everything is gone away

I think you're getting older and things aren't as fun as they were when you were a kid. I grew up in the 80's (I'm 28) so I know what you mean sometimes. Watch some old Simpsons, and break out your Sega Genesis (I play Sonic the Hedgehog ALL the time). It's okay! Things can only get better!
