hi
i really want to be able to connect to people easily. i've tried that this year at school - and it has worked but i dont want to be overly nice [some people think being overly nice is fake.] i want a bit more of a fun personality - without being lame/ a try-hard and without being mean.

Just be yourself. That person is the one who comes out naturally and when you stop pretending to be something else, others will be drawn to you. If you are a nice person naturally, then how can that be fake? Really, who cares what others think, just be true to yourself and you will make true friends, honestly.

What an invigorating and excellent question!
Well, there is an old definition of a friend: "someone who knows all about you and likes you just the same". I think that just about sums it up!
And listen: whyy change yourself? You're great as you are, and don't let any idiot tell you otherwise. God made you, and if you are good enough for Him, you are more than good enough for the rest of us.
There is no such thing as being "overly-nice", as you so excellently put it. One is either a lady or a gentleman: one is bred accordingly. Those who accuse one of being "over-nice" are simply ignorant of the basics of social etiquette.

Just be yourself. You dont have to be overly nice to people, just avoid the following around them: nagging, complaining, talking behind someone elses back, talking about yourself all the time, talking about boring stuff all the time, being lame, etc.
If you can avoid doing all these things then you will have a nice little crew to chill with.

May sound strange but Just be yourself. The connection things comes from the comfort level if u are comfortable talking to someone u will feel attached but if not than there won't be any "connection". Just have some confidence whenever u approach someone to talk. Just be very very normal. I have tried this in my collage and has worked for me.

Look for honesty, courtesy and someone who will like the things you like.
That's a start. You sort of have to go from there. You can actually talk to just about anyone. If you want a relationship that will bloom into friendship you want someone you can really connect with, and there has to be more than just communication for that to happen.

I look for person who is nice, easy to talk with and comfortable around each other. True friends be with you no matter what.

be cool...unique and maintain your style in the beginning pple may make fun of you but after a month or so...you will be the star....just chill..and dont over react to things and most importantly, be secretive,.

um... someone who i can talk 2... is willing to listen and knows when sumthing is a joke or when something is serious... if you can do that.. ppl can talk 2 u a lot easier =]
