Why are some gay guys so obsessed with straight guys?

I don't get it. Some of them seem to actually enjoy acting like they are superior to us? If I see a straight guy that's hot, I'm like oh nice, but it doesn't turn me on that much. I'd much more attracted to hot gay guys, because it's a turn-on if they want me too!

Angela, let me tell you a secret, you're friend is probably lying about hooking up with those straight guys, and if by chance he actually did, then they are really closeted gay guys.

I agree with you, basically for the same reasons...I'm 44, Ive never understood why some guys wanted to"catch"a str8 guy, low self-esteem I think. It may also have to do with internalized homophobia, as well...It's hard enough to meet the man of your dreams and settle down without worrying if theyre going to leave you for a woman! I love to feel appreciated...by men or women...it is flattering, but I only want to be with other queer men, that's where the excitement, the RUSH comes from...Good question, thank you.

I think a lot of it stems from internalized homo-homophobia, and the fact that a lot of gays are too feminine, which turns off many guys, straight or gay

for your question..gay guys are obsessed with straight guys because a lot of people all want what they can't have....it's the challenge that's intriguing. my gay male friend feels like he REALLY did something when he has sex with a "straight" guy.
And second comment....for you...to each it's own. you may be attracted to one thing..and someone else will be attracted to another. besides, there are a lot more gay "straight" guys than you think...so really in turn a lot of "straight" guys would want to you. BELIEVE me...I've seen it time and time and time and time again...enough where NOTHING shocks me anymore

I've never seen this, but if they are I can only think of the reason that it's a turn on for them, like a type of forbidden fruit (excuse the pun). Maybe they secretly desire to change them somehow.

The dilemma is that gay men are essentially men with women's desires for other men. The ideal result would be for these men to have a reciprocal attraction for them as if they were as attractive as any other 'woman" would be to these men. But in actuality you have gay men attracted to each others physical aspects but not as much to their feminine qualities. In fact in some ways the feminine qualities are a turn-off if too apparent. Yet any hope that straight men will see gays for their feminine qualities and look past their male forms will be mainly in vain.

I see at least three of you are in denial. Read the literature.
